For those who are unaware, every year Research2Guidance (along with its entourage of loyal supporters) conducts an annual study that aims to identify hot topics and trends in the mobile and digital health industry. As a way of giving back to the community, a free-to-download report is then published based on findings from the survey. Year after year we discover new and exciting market trends, and we continue to receive excellent feedback from our readers, partners and sponsors from all over the world.

This year we pay special attention to the market surrounding digital health accelerator programs. According to research, digital health startup funding decreased over the last 12 months, yet we continue to see an increasing oversupply of programs designed to facilitate these grass-root investments. Accelerator programs and start-ups are of course mutually beneficial. But more often than not, there is a lack of clear understanding for each other’s environments.

This year we have also decided to take a closer look at marketing strategies, and budgets for internal and external app development.
