82 healthcare companies and investors have used R2GConnect, the global scouting and matchmaking platform for the digital health industry, to find the best startups for their open call (briefing opportunities). More than 5,100 digital health companies have joined the platform in the past 4 months. 405 partnership talks between startups and established healthcare companies have been facilitated. And this is just the beginning.
R2GConnect enables the healthcare industry to efficiently find partners and investment opportunities in the digital health space. Established healthcare companies are using various partnering formats such as investment funds, innovation hubs and accelerators to scout for and identify the right partners, adopt innovation, and manage partnerships with startups. More often than not, the challenge faced by the corporates is to receive high quality applications of digital health companies that match their program conditions, find the hidden champions and best in-class digital health companies to jointly drive the digital health agenda.
What are the reasons for partnership failures and what makes a successful partnership? How are companies organizing their digital activities? To examine the current partnership trends and best practices, what works and what doesn’t and why, R2G launched a study on “Startup-Corporate Partnerships in Digital Health 2023”. We invite you to take part in it and Have your say!
R2GConnect supports startup scouting in digital health. The platform allows corporate partners to directly invite startups from the database to view and apply to their open calls / briefings, to chat with them, and the recommendation engine can also suggest companies that best match their program requirements.
In 4 months after the launch and as of today, R2GConnect has grown its startups database to more than 5,100 digital health companies. (To learn more about the startup profiles – therapeutic areas, top product categories, please click here).
The preferred types of corporate partners by startups on R2GConnect are Investors (41%), Health insurance (34%), Hospitals (33%), Pharma companies (33%) and digital health companies (33%).
As 46% and 28% of companies’ product stages are in scaling and growth (paid pilot) respectively, not surprisingly the top preferred partnership areas by the startups are in commercialization (51%), funding (47%), piloting (31%), co-development (30%) and acquisition (18%).
To date the R2GConnect platform has partnered with 82 healthcare companies and investors and has published their customized open calls (briefing opportunities) targeting digital health innovators that support use cases and business models. Corporate clients’ must-have requirements (e.g., digital solution in Diabetes space, scale-up, ready to launch in the German market) and 3 deal-maker questions (e.g., What are you looking for in the partnership? Or Which studies show the outcome of your solution?) set the unique partnership scope and attract the right startups to apply.
More than 1,093 startups have expressed their interest in these partnership opportunities and have shared their portfolios. Of that, 405 startups have been invited for partnership talks.
17 new open calls (briefing opportunities) are published on R2GConnect for digital health innovators and startups to apply to.
